| If we are printing door hangers or postcards directly from your own finished artwork the following are some guidelines to simplify the process of sending us your files. File formats: The preferred format for sending us files is a press quality PDF. If that is not workable for you, the next best solution is an EPS. We also accept files in any of the usual page layout programs such as InDesign, QuarkXPress, PageMaker, PhotoShop, Illustrator and so on. When preparing files, make sure that they are CMYK and that any photos used have been converted to CMYK. Flatten all files before sending them. Images and files should be at 300 ppi resolution. Design specifications: Bleed Door hangers and postcards need to have a 0.125" bleed on all four sides. "Safe area" In order to allow for tolerances in trimming the printed pieces, your design should allow for a 0.25" "safe area" between the edge of your design and the edge of the paper. Please keep all critical text within the "safe area." For door hangers, no critical text in the top 1.5” area. Templates Have a look at the templates below to see where the hole is on the door hangers and where the postal indicia and address space are on the postcards. You need to take these into account in your design. If you have any questions about a specific file format, call us before sending the files and we can help you get it right. Door hanger (File 4.5" x 11.25" trimmed to 4.25" x 11")  Postcard (4" X 6") (File 6.25" x 4.25" trimmed to 6" x 4")  Postcard (8.5" X 5.5"): All the other dimensions remain the same. The full size of the large postcard including bleed is 8.75" X 5.75" which is trimmed to 8.5" x 5.5". How to send the files when ready If the file is not too big (up to 8 MB) then it could be sent by e-mail. Address the e-mail to graphics@markots.com. Put your company name and the name of the job in the subject line of the e-mail (XYZ Café/Door hanger).
